81 Days of Summer- Indian Lake, Ohio

Something is fishy here...

You don't have to own a boat to enjoy the Lake. Sure it helps, but the cool thing about visiting Indian Lake is there are plenty of FREE things to do too!  According to its websiteIndian Lake has numerous islands across the center of the lake, a large wildlife area, many inlets and bays, and boasts over 30 miles of shoreline.

With public beaches, my two little fish love to swim. Lifejackets are a must because this momma HATES the idea of not being able to see them if they go under. (No seriously, most of nightmares are surrounded or end with this-eeeeekkkkk!) I digress. Who doesn't like to build a sandcastle or find shells (mainly rocks here) on the shores?  This in itself can keep my two kiddos busy for a few hours.

But a favorite and a must stop here is the McDonalds. No not because of the amazing food, but because of the ambience. On the backside of Mickey D's there is a boat parking for those cruising the Lake to come grab a bite to eat off the channel. Lined with picnic tables the Golden Arches restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy the lakeside without really having to go out on the Lake. It's a people watchers delight, and for the kids the ducks are pretty frequent by the docks to pick up any limp french fry you may leave behind.

So the next time your in the mood for something close that has the feel (to kids at least) of a ocean, take a trip to Indian Lake. With bike and hiking trails and plenty of chicken nuggets for everyone, its got something for all your family and you won't break the bank enjoying it.
